What is StoreCrow?
StoreCrow is local-first desktop operations software for one independently operated self-storage facility. It manages units, tenants, reservations, leases, billing, manual payment records, delinquency, reports, backups and portable exports.
Who is StoreCrow built for?
It is built for an independent operator running one facility who wants a focused desktop system and direct control of the facility database. It is not a multi-site cloud platform.
Can I use my facility's own logo?
Yes. The facility owner can choose, replace or remove a PNG, JPEG or WebP logo in Settings. StoreCrow normalizes and stores it locally with the facility, includes it in verified backups and portable exports, and keeps StoreCrow visible as the software identity.
Is StoreCrow available to buy now?
Not yet. StoreCrow 1.0.0 is being prepared for Mac App Store review. It becomes available only after Apple approval and Ownerstate Software's separate manual release.
Does StoreCrow process card payments?
No. StoreCrow records payments made through external methods such as cash, check or an outside processor, but it does not move money, connect to a processor or certify settlement.
Does StoreCrow connect to gate hardware?
No. It can store a masked gate code as part of an operator-controlled tenant record, but it does not open, control or reconcile a physical gate system.
Where is StoreCrow data stored?
The facility database is stored locally on the operator's computer. StoreCrow has no application cloud synchronization, analytics or advertising SDK. Backups and exports go only where the operator chooses to save them.
Can I export my data?
Yes. StoreCrow creates verified recovery backups, formula-neutralized CSV reports and a checksummed full-history portable package. A third-party destination still needs a mapped import and reconciliation; portability is not a promise that every vendor can ingest the package unchanged.
What is the difference between a backup and a portable export?
A backup is designed for exact StoreCrow recovery and passes restore-admission checks. A portable export is a documented, structured copy of operational history intended for independent verification and migration.
Is the StoreCrow database encrypted?
No. StoreCrow protects application access with a salted local passcode, auto-lock, masked secrets and private file permissions, but the SQLite database and exports are not encrypted by the app. Operators must use full-disk encryption and encrypted backup media.
What happens if the app or computer stops unexpectedly?
StoreCrow uses SQLite WAL mode with full synchronization and transactional workflows. Forced-termination and disk-exhaustion tests have exercised recovery paths, but the product owner waived a physical mains-interruption test for 0.11.0. Independent replacement-hardware recovery remains open.
Can StoreCrow manage multiple facilities?
Not in one database. StoreCrow enforces exactly one facility per database. Multi-site operation is outside the current product scope.
Does StoreCrow provide legal advice or prove notice delivery?
No. StoreCrow can retain counsel-reviewed templates, ordered case history and operator-entered delivery references. Counsel and the operator remain responsible for current law, procedure, timing and proof.
Which computers does StoreCrow currently support?
StoreCrow 1.0.0 is prepared for Apple Silicon Macs through the Mac App Store. Windows and Linux are not current release targets.
How much does StoreCrow cost?
The planned US Mac App Store price is US$49.99 as a one-time purchase. Apple sets storefront equivalents, taxes and final availability by territory.
